Who I am
Time 2 Live Again (time2liveagain.com) is written and run by Brendon Craft. For anything on this page, get in touch through the contact page.
What gets collected
Analytics. This site runs on WordPress.com with Jetpack, which records basic visit data — pages viewed, rough location, referring site, browser and device type. It tells me which posts people actually read. I don’t see who you are.
Email. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by WordPress.com/Jetpack so I can send posts. Unsubscribe any time using the link in any email and it’s gone.
Comments. If you comment, your name, email and comment are stored, and screened for spam by Akismet.
Affiliate links and Stay22
Some posts carry affiliate links. If you book or buy through one, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Travel posts use a service called Stay22. It runs a script on this site that recognises accommodation mentioned in an article and turns it into a booking link, then tracks whether a booking followed so the commission can be attributed. To do that it sets cookies and processes your IP address, the page you’re on and your interaction with those links. Stay22 works with booking partners including Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, KAYAK, TripAdvisor, Agoda, Vrbo and GetYourGuide. Their own privacy policy is at stay22.com/privacy.
Some of those accommodation links are inserted automatically rather than chosen by me. An automatic link is not a recommendation. Where I’m actually recommending somewhere, I say so in the writing.
Cookies
Cookies on this site fall into three buckets: ones that make the site work, ones that count visits, and ones that attribute affiliate bookings. You can refuse non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them won’t stop you reading anything here.
Your rights
If you’re in the UK or EU, you can ask me for a copy of any personal data I hold on you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it’s used. Email me through the contact page and I’ll sort it. If you think I’ve handled it badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If I add anything that changes how data is handled here, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
